FAMILY ANNOUNCES A’IBOM FIRST LADY’S BURIAL FOR NOV 29

The family has officially announced the funeral arrangements for the late Pastor (Mrs.) Patience Umo Eno, the First Lady of Akwa Ibom State.

On November 29, 2024, a funeral service and burial would take place at her rural home in Ikot Ekpene Udo, Nsit Ubium LGA.

Her husband, Governor Umo Eno, the state government, and the bereaved family undertook these preparations to honour her significant life and enduring legacy.

Her funeral was publicly announced on Friday by Enobong Uwah, the secretary to the State Government and chairman of the Central Planning Committee.

Uwah conveyed the family’s gratitude for the outpouring of love and support from across the nation.

“We are deeply thankful for the overwhelming prayers, tributes, and comforting words during this profoundly difficult period,” Uwah stated.

He encouraged friends and well-wishers to join the family in the series of planned events to honour Pastor Patience Eno’s life.

It had been earlier reported her death on 26th September 2024.

Pastor Patience Eno passed away, leaving a legacy of compassion and faith that touched many lives throughout Akwa Ibom State and beyond.

Known for her dedication to her faith and community, her sudden passing has left a palpable void.

Eno, in an emotional tribute, said, “My wife was not only my partner but a pillar of strength for our family and the people of Akwa Ibom. Her compassion and devotion were unmatched, and she will be dearly missed.”

In memory of her commitment to service, a week of events has been planned, beginning with the opening of the Mourning House on 20th November 2024, followed by condolence visits until 26th November 2024.

On 22nd November, a Night of Worship and Tributes will be held at the International Christian Worship Centre, Uyo, to reflect on her life’s impact, with songs of worship and heartfelt messages from those she inspired.

SSA-ICT, Dr. Frank Ekpenyong, noted, “Her Excellency was a beacon of hope to many, and this night of worship is a small testament to the light she brought to countless lives.”
