LAGOS MECHANIC ARRESTED IN OGUN FOR DISMANTLING STOLEN CAR TO SELL
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ogun State Command, revealed on Friday that its operatives arrested 27-year-old automobile technician, Abiodun Ajao, for allegedly stealing and dismantling a customer’s vehicle with the number plate Lagos BDG 956-FJ.
This was revealed in a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Ogun NSCDC Command, Dyke Ogbonnaya, on Friday.
Ogbonnaya said, “The suspect who intentionally drove the said vehicle from Lagos to Idona, Ijebu Imusin, Ogun State had already started dismembering the vehicle for sale to intending buyers before he was arrested.”
He explained that when questioned by the officers of the NSCDC, Ijebu East Central Division Esure, Ijebu Imusin, Ajao said, “The engine of the vehicle is bad and I’m just trying to find some buyers for the parts since the engine is knocked and unusable”.
After thorough and further examination, Ogbonnaya said the suspect disclosed that the vehicle was brought to him for repairs and that he was test-driving it to see the suitability of the work done on it before handing it over to the buyer.
The NSCDC boss said, “Ajao said ‘I have already driven the car to some distant parts of Lagos with passengers before bringing it down to Ijebu Imusin and en route Epe road before I was caught dismembering the engine and other parts of the vehicle’.”
He added that the suspect confessed to the crime and had been pleading with the NSCDC officers for forgiveness.

SECURITY PERSONNELS NEUTRALIZES SCORES OF ISWAP/BOKO HARAM ,REPEL ATTACKS IN BORNO
By Tejiri Oghene After attacks on military installations in Buratai (Biu Local Government Area) and Mallam Fatori (Abadam LGA) were thwarted, the Nigerian Army stated that forces had neutralized a large number of terrorists connected to Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP). The attack on Buratai began early Thursday morning when terrorists tried to enter the town from several different angles, according to military sources. Nonetheless, vigilant soldiers retaliated with intense fire, aided by Operation Hadin Kai's Air Component's precision airstrikes. The army said that mop up efforts were still taking on in the region and that "troops uncovered many deceased bodies of terrorists and recovered a substantial cache of varied weaponry and ammunition." A coordinated attack on Mallam Fatori was launched by another set of terrorists at the same time, but they were similarly thwarted by superior firepower from ground forces and air assistance. Unable to continue the firefight, the rebels reportedly ran away in confusion, with many of them being shot during the chase. WE HAVE NO PLANS TO ARREST UTOMI OR SHADOW GOVT PROMOTERS- DSS
By Jen Nomamiukor Akinlolu Kehinde (SAN), the main attorney for the Department of State Services (DSS), has stated that the agency has no intention of making any arrests in connection with the shadow government that is being suggested by a group headed by Patrick Utomi, the African Democratic Congress's (ADC) 2007 presidential candidate. “Our client is not interested in arresting anybody on this matter, having on its own accord submitted itself to the jurisdiction of the honorable court to interpret the Constitution and determine the legality or otherwise of the ‘shadow government’ or any other nomenclature that it may be so named,” Kehinde told journalists Wednesday, shortly after filing a fresh application before the Federal High Court in Abuja for an interlocutory injunction preventing Utomi from making any more public comments or attending rallies related to a suit pending against him over his announced plan to establish a shadow government in the nation. As you are aware, the State Security Service (SSS) brought the civil complaint against the nation's democratically elected government in accordance with its legislative responsibility to maintain internal peace and prevent treasonous crimes and insurrections. As the SSS's legal representatives, we recently submitted a request for an interlocutory order against the defendant and his organization while the substantive suit is being decided.
