AMOSUN RALLIES SUPPORT FOR LESS PRIVILEGED ON HIS 67TH BIRTHDAY

On the occasion of his 67th birthday, former Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has called for support for the less privileged in the country.

Amosun stated that such initiatives promote inclusiveness, foster love, and offer hope to those in need.

The former governor made this announcement while distributing bags of rice and cash gifts to inmates in correctional centers across the state in celebration of his birthday.

According to a statement released on Sunday by his media aide, Lanre Akinwale, other beneficiaries of Amosun’s generosity included children at the Borstal Institutions in Adigbe, Daniel Akintonde School for the Physically Challenged, and Stella Obasanjo Children’s Home, all in Abeokuta, the state capital.

Represented by Alhaji Bola Adeyemi, Amosun said, “Birthday is a special time of sober reflection, a time to further appreciate the Almighty God for his benevolence and gift of life.

“And as part of the 67th birthday celebrations of Sen Ibikunle Amosun, in his usual character, he has commanded that these food items should be distributed to the inmates of the correctional centres across the state and some other identified less privileged.

“Sen Amosun believes that the less privileged deserve the love and support of all for a better society.”

In addition, associates, family members, and supporters of Amosun, including the former Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Sarafa Isola, attended an interfaith service at the former governor’s Ibara GRA residence.

During their sermons, Rev. Julius Ogunseye of the African Church and Imam Bashir Ibrahim of Unity Central Mosque encouraged the people to maintain their faith in God despite challenges.

They urged the public to follow Amosun’s example of displaying virtues such as reverence for God and love for others.

They praised Amosun for his kindness, charity, and humanitarian efforts, offering prayers for his long life, good health, and abundant blessings.
