18 people involved in various drug offences have been arrested as a result of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency’s (NDLEA) Kano State Command’s successful raids on a number of infamous drug hotspots.

Areas renowned for illegal drug activity, such as Fagge, Kwarin Kaya, Kofar Wambai, and Kofar Mata, were the focus of the operations. Significant amounts of illegal drugs, such as rubber solution and cannabis sativa, as well as hazardous weaponry manufactured locally, were found by NDLEA agents during these raids.

The operation on January 30, 2025, was part of the NDLEA’s stepped-up efforts to tackle drug-related crimes in the state, according to Assistant Superintendent Sadiq Muhammad Maigatari, who verified the successful raids.

“The operation was conducted in multiple locations, including Fagge, Kwarin Kaya, Kofar Wambai, and Kofar Mata, where 18 suspects were apprehended,” Maigatari said. “While conducting the raid at Kwarin Kaya, some suspects attempted to intimidate the officers from a distance. However, the NDLEA remained resolute, and the operation proceeded without any incidents.”
