OGUN POLICE APPREHEND 31-YEAR-OLD BURGLAR
The Ogun State Police Command has apprehended a 31-year-old man, Lukpata Micheal, for allegedly breaking into a home, vandalizing, and stealing items valued at N2.6 million near the Igode area of the state.
CSP Omolola Odutola, the command’s spokesperson, shared this information in a statement to the press on Tuesday.
Odutola explained that a report of the break-in was received on Monday, noting that property worth N2.6 million was both damaged and stolen during the incident.
“On Monday, February 3, 2025, at about 9:25 am, a man, identified as Orukpe Emmanuel reported that he received a call that his house in Eriyo Fakale Road near Igode, Ogun State had been broken into by one Lukpata Micheal, a male, 31- years-old.
“He immediately went to the house and discovered extensive damage. This included a broken ceiling valued at ₦200,000, a damaged window burglary system worth ₦100,000, and stolen electrical cables, wires, sockets, aluminium casement, and window frames with glasses, totalling ₦1,850,000. In all, the estimated total damage amounted to ₦2,650,000.”
Odutola noted that a preliminary investigation had commenced and the suspect arrested.
“Upon receiving the report the suspect was arrested by detectives, investigation is ongoing” She stated.
Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 35-year-old man, Idowu Kehinde, for allegedly stealing ceiling fans and aluminum windows from a mosque in the Adiyan area of Agbado, Ogun State.
Reports indicate that Kehinde reportedly scaled the fence of Mapara Moboluwaduro Central Mosque to gain entry before stealing eight ceiling fans and four aluminum windows, with a total value of N520,000.
