HOODLUMS MURDER MOTORCYCLIST, STEAL BIKE IN ABUJA
In the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), a commercial motorcycle rider was slain by a group of thugs in the Zuba neighborhood after they struck him on the head with a hammer.
Mubarak Abdullahi, a 23-year-old native of nearby Madalla town in Niger State’s Suleja Local Government Area, was reportedly attacked by the group at around five in the morning.
The incident was described by Bello Abdullahi, the deceased’s younger brother, who said, “A neighbor informed me that my brother was found laying around Nitel-Pole road, and I hurried to the area at around 7 am.
“I took him to a clinic in Madalla with the assistance of other people. He was attended to by the health officials on duty before he died later in the night.’’
The Nitel road, which connected Zuba with the nearby town of Madalla, was characterized by a local, who only gave his name as Bala, as being infamous for criminal activity. The criminals frequently assault pedestrians and commercial motorcycle riders between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.
The local police, meanwhile, stated that the incident was not reported to the station.
