TEARS, TRAUMA AT UCH AS CBEX CRASH LEAVES INVESTORS SHATTERED
The collapse of a ponzi platform, CBEX, has continued to send shockwaves across Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, with emotional scenes unfolding at the University College Hospital (UCH), where several affected investors were seen in tears over their losses.
A source at UCH, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, described the atmosphere as deeply emotional.
“People are crying — real tears,” the source said in a voice recording. “Some of them invested as much as N5 million, N2 million, and a few even sold their cars to raise money for CBEX. Now, everything is gone.”
This comes shortly after a group of enraged individuals stormed the CBEX office in the Oke Ado area of Ibadan on Monday, looting furniture and equipment following reports that the platform had abruptly crashed, leaving many users with empty account balances.
The digital platform, which had attracted thousands with promises of high returns on investments, is now at the center of a growing public outcry.
On social media, users have continued to share their stories of financial loss and betrayal, calling for justice and government intervention.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident or confirm whether any arrests have been made in connection to the looting.
As the fallout continues, many affected individuals are left grappling not just with the financial blow, but with the emotional toll of watching their life savings disappear overnight.
