FORMER BENUE COUNCIL CHAIRMAN, IJIGAH, LAID TO REST

The remains of former Ogbadibo Local Government Chairman, Hon. Ijigah Okoh, have been buried in his hometown, Mission Ekere, Owukpa.
Hon. Ijigah passed away earlier this year at the age of 67 after a brief illness.
Throughout his lifetime, he held several key positions, including Vice Chairman of Ogbadibo Local Government, Chief Press Secretary to two Deputy Governors of Benue State — Engr. Yakubu Agada and Prince Ogiri Ajene — Caretaker Chairman of Ogbadibo, State Financial Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and Special Adviser to Governor Samuel Ortom on State Assembly matters.
Speaking at the funeral, Senate Minority Leader and Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Abba Moro, described him as a seasoned grassroots politician whose absence will be deeply felt.
Moro, who was represented by Joseph Ebije, said: “It is sad to have lost Hon. Ijigah at a time when his wealth of experience would be most beneficial to you, your family, and the Owukpa community.
”As the Good Book says in Ecclesiastes Chapter Three, verses one and two, ‘To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die.’ We cannot question the wisdom of God who called him home.
”As human beings, it is always our desire to live in perpetuity with our loved ones, but God Almighty has configured the fullness of time for every human being, and it is His sole prerogative to determine when our earthly sojourn ends.”
Also speaking at the burial, the Benue State PDP Chairman, Adaba Chris Abba, said Ijigah was a loyal party man until death.
”He was a committed and dependable member of our great party. His contributions to the PDP at the grassroots will not be forgotten,” he added.
On his part, former Spokesperson of the Minority Caucus of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Francis Ottah Agbo, described Ijigah as a steadfast leader who served his people with humility and dedication.
“Hon. Ijigah lived an exemplary life of service. He remained a voice for his community even after leaving office. His legacy of honesty and loyalty will continue to inspire future leaders,” he stated.
The burial ceremony was attended by political leaders, traditional rulers, party faithful, and members of the Owukpa community who came to pay their final respects.
