NIGERIA’S POWER GENERATION RISES TO 5148MW
Nigeria’s electricity generation capacity peaked at 5148.34 megawatts on Friday, April 25, 2025, as per the grid system performance data released by operators.
The data indicated that the country’s electricity generation grew by 405.54 megawatts, reaching 5148.34MW on Friday, up from the 4,742.80MW peak recorded on Saturday, April 19, 2025.
However, Friday’s grid performance figure was below the 5,801.63MW announced earlier this month by the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu.
”The Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry has transmitted and distributed the highest energy of 5,801.63 MW as the latest feat,” Adelabu stated when receiving European Union delegates in his office in Abuja on April 9, 2025.
The minister attributed this feat to relative stability in the nation’s grid for the past four months.
Despite the country’s grid performance data, majority of Nigerians have continued to face power supply challenges over the years
