BREAKING: ALL DELTA PDP HOUSE OF REPS MEMBERS DEFECT TO APC
All members of the House of Representatives from Delta State elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have formally defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The announcement was made by the Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, during Tuesday’s plenary session.
Their defection follows the earlier move by former Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, and the current governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, who both left the PDP for the APC during a stakeholders’ meeting held in Asaba.
In response to the wave of defections, Rep. Ikenga Ugochinyere from Ideato Federal Constituency in Imo State revealed that two additional PDP governors and around 40 lawmakers are also expected to switch to the APC soon.
Meanwhile, former Senate President Bukola Saraki has responded to the developments, stating that while the PDP will undergo a repositioning process, those who wish to leave the party are free to do so.
