
JUST IN: TINUBU ARRIVES ANAMBRA TO INAUGURATE ‘FIRST GOVERNMENT HOUSE’, OTHER PROJECTS
On his first formal visit to Anambra State, President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Awka, the state capital.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo welcomed Tinubu as he landed at the Chinua Achebe Airport in Anambra at approximately 12:15 p.m.
During his visit, Tinubu officially opened the first Government House in Anambra State on Thursday, more than 30 years after the state’s founding.
Additionally, Tinubu will unveil a number of additional initiatives completed by Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s government.
Ifeanyi Okoma, the Anambra State Commissioner for Works, stated on Thursday that the state’s residents are ecstatic about the new government house that Governor Soludo has constructed.
“For 34 years Anambra State is the only state that does not have a government house and we sit in a makeshift house that is outside the state capital which is at Amawbia.
“But today, there is something to celebrate, Anambra State by the grace of God has through the leadership of Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, we have a government house that is sitting close to 8 hectares of land and it is going to be the biggest and the greenest state house in the country,” Okoma said.
It will be the President’s second visit to the South-East this year after visiting Enugu State in January.
