By: Motunrayo Aniwura
The family of 26-year-old banker, Osemudiamen Idemudia, is deeply troubled over his sudden and mysterious disappearance while on his way home from work in Lagos.
Osemudiamen, who works in the Point-of-Sale (POS) unit of a commercial bank, was last seen on the evening of Friday, May 9, according to his father, Mr. Julius Idemudia.
Recounting the events before his disappearance, Mr. Idemudia explained that his son had left the bank’s Ikota branch with a colleague to attend a scheduled meeting with a senior official at the bank’s headquarters in CMS, Lagos Island. However, upon arriving, they were informed that the meeting had been cancelled.
“After they got to CMS and parted ways, Osemudiamen was supposed to take a bus to Iyana Ipaja and then proceed to Igando, where he lives. But he never arrived home. When it got late and we hadn’t heard from him, we began to worry. After 24 hours, we raised the alarm,” the father said.
The family has formally reported the incident to the Igando Police Station, located near the Akesan area where Osemudiamen resides.
Idemudia further revealed that arrangements are being made to engage with the bank’s Chief Security Officer to support ongoing investigations into his son’s disappearance.
“This is completely out of character for him. We are extremely worried and just want to know that he is safe. Our hearts are heavy,” the father added.
