COURT REMANDS TWO MEN FOR ALLEGED THEFT OF N2.5M FOOD ITEMS

An Ebute Metta Magistrates’ Court in Lagos has remanded two men, Victor Otache, 30, and Wisdom Habeeb Abudu, 22, over the alleged theft of food items valued at N2.5 million.

The duo were accused of conspiring to steal rice, beans, palm oil, dressed chicken, fruits, garri, and other food items belonging to Abundish Limited at Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, between April and September 14, 2025.

Police Prosecutor, Insp. Philomena, informed the court that the offences contravened Sections 411 and 287(7) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Both defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges and were represented in court by Barr. B. N. Nwaigwa.

Magistrate Folashade Dorcas Hughes granted them bail in the sum of N500,000 each, with sureties in like sum, but ordered that they be remanded at Ikoyi Prisons pending perfection of their bail conditions.

The matter was adjourned until October 14, 2025, for further hearing.
