The presidential candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) for the 2027 general election, Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas, has unveiled Hon. Chinazam Ike as his running mate.
The announcement was made in a statement issued on Tuesday by Abbas’ Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Jacob Dickson.
According to the statement, Ike’s nomination reflects the party’s commitment to promoting a united, inclusive, and youth-focused leadership capable of addressing Nigeria’s challenges.
Announcing the choice, Abbas said the decision underscores the party’s determination to provide Nigerians with a credible alternative built on competence, unity, and purposeful governance.
“This strategic decision demonstrates our commitment to building an inclusive, competent, and youth-driven leadership that truly reflects the aspirations of Nigerians.
“Together, we are ready to restore hope, strengthen national unity, drive economic prosperity, and provide purposeful leadership,” he said.
The statement described Ike, an indigene of Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, as a seasoned politician, entrepreneur, and youth advocate with over 20 years of leadership and political experience.

It noted that he previously served as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Forum of National Youth Leaders of Political Parties in Nigeria, as well as National Youth Leader of the Action Democratic Party.
The party also highlighted Ike’s role as Project Director of Season.com Nig. Ltd., where he contributed to initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable housing and economic development.
According to the statement, Ike is widely respected for his integrity, visionary leadership, commitment to youth empowerment, and dedication to democratic values.
The ADP described the Abbas-Ike ticket as a symbol of generational change and a renewed vision for Nigeria based on competence, justice, equity, innovation, and selfless service.
The party said the ticket also represents national unity by bringing together Nigerians across ethnic, regional, and religious divides.
It urged Nigerians, particularly young people, women, professionals, traditional institutions, and civil society groups, to support its bid in the 2027 presidential election.
“We call on all Nigerians to join this movement as we work together to build a new Nigeria founded on justice, opportunity, security, and shared prosperity. Together, we can build the Nigeria of our dreams,” the statement said.
The announcement comes as political parties intensify consultations, coalition discussions, and internal realignments ahead of the 2027 general election.
While the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for a second term, opposition parties continue to position themselves as viable alternatives.
The ADP said its campaign will focus on youthful leadership, national unity, economic recovery, and inclusive development.
