2027: MAKINDE NAMES FORMER AVIATION MINISTER HYAT CAMPAIGN DG

The presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has appointed former Minister of State for Aviation, Felix Hyat, as Director-General of the National Campaign Management Committee of the Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Makinde also appointed former Minister of Women Affairs, Hajia Inna Ciroma, and Dr Anthony Aziegbemi as Deputy Directors-General for Administration and Operations respectively.
The appointments were announced on Wednesday in a statement by Makinde’s Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication, Anthony Ehilebo.

According to the statement, the appointments were designed to bring together experienced political strategists, administrators and mobilisers to advance the APM’s “Reset Nigeria” campaign message across the country.
Hyat, a former Minister of State for Aviation and former Kaduna State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, is expected to lead the campaign’s national coordination and mobilisation efforts.
Makinde also named directors to oversee key areas of the campaign, including mobilisation, legal and compliance, administration and strategy, strategic communications, finance, security and intelligence, women and youth coordination, and monitoring and documentation.
The Oyo State governor said the campaign leadership would work with APM National Leader and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, National Chairman Yusuf Mamman Dantalle and other party leaders to coordinate the party’s national campaign.
Other appointments include Alhaji Hamza Akuyam Koshe as Director of Contact and Mobilisation; Barrister Mark Jacob as Director of Legal and Compliance; Dr Ade Adeagbo as Director of Administration and Strategy; and Hon. Richard Ihediwa as Director of Strategic Communications.
Alhaji Yusuf Ismaila Alkali was appointed Director of Finance, while Dr Emmanuel Dennis was named Director of Volunteers, Special Interests and Support Groups.
Alhaji Suleiman Hussaini Kankia will serve as Director of Security and Intelligence, while Hon. Toyin Balogun was appointed Director of Women Coordination.
Alhaji Umar Bida Ndabrama was named Director of Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting and Documentation, while Comrade Armstrong Adah will oversee Youth Coordination.
Adeyemi Moyegun was appointed Director of Organisation and Coordination, with retired Commissioner of Police Babangida Ayuba John serving as Deputy Director of Security and Intelligence.
The campaign organisation said additional appointments would be announced later.
It urged APM members, supporters and Nigerians who identify with its “Reset Nigeria” campaign message to remain committed and work towards the party’s campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections.
