Former Deputy President of the Senate and Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) senatorial candidate for Delta Central, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has warned those planning to manipulate the 2027 general elections to desist, threatening severe consequences for electoral fraud.

Omo-Agege issued the warning on Friday while flagging off his campaign in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, declaring that anyone who attempts to rig the election would face the consequences.

“It’s rig and die. Anybody who tries to rig the 2027 election will face the consequences. We will not allow anyone to steal our votes,” he said.

The former Deputy Senate President maintained that the era of ballot manipulation and electoral fraud was over, arguing that voters were now more politically conscious and prepared to defend their votes.

He reiterated that Nigerians would not tolerate attempts to undermine their electoral choices, warning that anyone caught manipulating the polls would face serious consequences.

Omo-Agege also alleged that his campaign, family members and supporters had faced intimidation and attacks. He called on security agencies and the international community to monitor political activities in Delta State ahead of the elections.

The NDC candidate expressed confidence that his party would defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State in the forthcoming general elections.

He urged his supporters to intensify mobilisation efforts in support of his senatorial ambition and other NDC candidates.
