2027: SHETTIMA SEEKS NORTHERN CREATIVES’ SUPPORT FOR TINUBU

Vice President Kashim Shettima has called on creative industry professionals in Northern Nigeria to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, saying the region’s backing is important for fairness and national unity.
Shettima also assured Northern artists that the Tinubu administration would continue to support the growth of the entertainment and creative sectors across the region.
The Vice President made the call on Wednesday when he received a delegation of Northern performing artists under the auspices of Triple-R For Renewed Hope at the All Progressives Congress campaign office in Abuja.
He said the North could benefit significantly from the administration’s creative economy initiatives, which he said were aimed at empowering local talent, preserving cultural heritage and creating economic opportunities.

Shettima urged the delegation to remain committed to the administration and the APC, saying the government would continue to introduce interventions targeted at supporting artists, filmmakers and musicians in the region.
He maintained that the benefits of the administration’s reforms would become more evident across various sectors in the coming months and years.
Earlier, the Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, said the campaign for Tinubu’s re-election in the 2027 general elections would be anchored on the administration’s achievements.
Yari urged support groups and individuals to assess the government based on its performance. He also called on creative professionals to disregard claims by opposition figures that the North had been marginalised in appointments and development projects.
According to him, the region had received fair treatment under the Tinubu administration and remained an important part of Nigeria’s democratic process.
The Deputy Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council for Parliamentary Mobilisation and former Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, thanked the creative professionals for their commitment to supporting APC candidates, including Tinubu.
Masari said the administration’s policies and programmes were creating opportunities for the creative sector and encouraged professionals to take advantage of them to improve their livelihoods.
Former Kano State Governor and APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, also thanked the group for its support and urged members to promote justice, fairness and inclusiveness in their campaign for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
Ganduje described Triple-R For Renewed Hope as one of the APC’s organic support groups and called for greater investment in Northern Nigeria’s entertainment industry through infrastructure development and training for emerging artists.
The President of Triple-R For Renewed Hope, Dauda Kahutu Rarara, pledged the group’s support for Tinubu’s re-election and for other APC candidates across the North.
Rarara said Northern creatives were united in their support for the administration and that their backing was based on what he described as its performance.
The group’s National Chairman, Lawan Ahmad, and Secretary, Ahmad Bifa, separately expressed their readiness to mobilise support for Tinubu and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
They also appealed to the Federal Government to support the reorganisation and development of the creative industry in Northern Nigeria, particularly through improved infrastructure and measures to enhance the welfare of professionals.
