The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Ogun State, Senator Adeola Olamilekan, popularly known as Yayi, has said the state should deliver at least two million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election.
Olamilekan made the call on Saturday at the inauguration of the Ogun State executives of the CityBoy Movement and the commissioning of the group’s state secretariat in Abeokuta.
The CityBoy Movement, a grassroots support group for Tinubu, is mobilising support for the President’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 elections.

Olamilekan said Ogun’s large voting population made the two-million-vote target achievable.
“Ogun State has over three million registered voters, and with this number, I believe we should give President Tinubu at least two million votes in 2027,” he said.
The APC candidate also commended Tinubu for what he described as significant federal projects and support for Ogun State.
Among the projects he highlighted were the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Sokoto-Badagry Expressway, establishment of the Federal University of Medicine and Medical Sciences in Abeokuta, and the upgrade of Tai Solarin University of Education to a federal institution.
The event was attended by the Minister of State for Health, Ishaq Salako; the Special Adviser to the President on Public Communication and Orientation, Sunday Dare; and the President’s Personal Assistant on Special Duties, Alhaji Kamorudeen Yusuf.
Governor Dapo Abiodun was represented by his deputy, Noimot Salako-Oyedele.
In his address, the Ogun State Director-General of the CityBoy Movement, Dr Abdulateef Sulaimon, said the organisation was committed to mobilising young people and promoting active participation in the democratic process.
Sulaimon disclosed that the movement had registered more than 150,000 active members in Ogun within one month of commencing its membership drive.
He said the group was targeting a verifiable grassroots membership of more than 500,000 people in the state before January 2027.
The National Director-General of the movement, Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, charged the newly inaugurated executives to expand the organisation’s activities across all 20 local government areas of Ogun State.
Shoga urged the executives to build a disciplined grassroots structure ahead of the 2027 elections and described their appointments as a call to service.
He also commended Yusuf for his leadership and commitment to the movement’s activities in the state.
