ETHIOPIANS DOMINATE LAGOS CITY MARATHON 2019: CARTING AWAY A TOTAL OF $170,000 CASH PRIZES

Ethiopian marathoners, Sintayehu Legese, Dinke Meseret, Alemnesh Herepa and Kibena Chala dominated the just concluded Lagos city marathon in both the male and female categories, carting home a total of $170, 000 cash prizes.
Legese won the male category, finsishing in 2 hours, 17 minutes, 28 seconds. While his fellow compatriot, Dinke Meseret emerged as the winner of the female category, with a finish time of 2:48:02. Legese and Meseret bagged $50,000 each.
Alemnesh Herepa and Chala both from Ethiopia came 2nd and 3rd respectively in the female category, while, Kenya’s Kipkorir Joshua and William Yegon finished 2nd and 3rdpositions in the men category.
However, among Nigerians that participated in the race, Gideon Goyet was the fastest male, while Badung Deborah Pam beat other Nigerian females. They both went home with N3 million each.
