SECURITY: IGP USMAN BABA ORDERS DEPLOYMENT OF 12 CPs TO VARIOUS STATE COMMANDS

Usman Baba, the Inspector General of Police, has mandated that 12 Commissioners of Police be sent to various state commands around the nation.

This came after the Police Service Commission approved Baba’s request for the assignment of the CPs to various state commands, a report claims.

The senior police officers were also given orders by the IG to report right away to their assigned posts, take care of their offices’ activities, and carry out the policing agenda set forth by the NPF’s leadership.

The 12 newly-posted CPs are Mohammed Gumel, Kano State Command; Haruna Garba, FCT Command; Tajudeen Abass, Delta State Command; Oladimeji Olarewaju, Ogun State Command; Taiwo Jesubiyi, Ondo State Command; Julius Okoro, Benue State Command; Romokere Ibiani, Bayelsa State Command; Mohammed Bunu, Yobe State Command; Garba Yusuf, Kaduna State Command; Garba Ahmed, Zamfara State Command; Hayatu Ali, Sokoto State Command, and Aliyu Musa, Katsina State Command.

A statement on Thursday by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said, “The Inspector-General of Police has charged the senior police officers to entrench professionalism and respect for fundamental rights in all officers and men under their supervision leveraging on the recent training for Strategic Police Managers held at the Nigeria Institute of Police Studies, Jabi, Abuja.

“He urged them to adequately engrain community-oriented policing in their various jurisdictions to achieve modern, technology-based, and people-oriented policing services on all fronts.”
