
EFCC ARRESTS 23 SUSPECTED INTERNET FRAUDSTER S IN OYO
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has apprehended 23 individuals suspected of involvement in internet fraud in the Akobo area of Ibadan, Oyo State.
The arrests were carried out by operatives from the Ibadan Zonal Directorate of the EFCC, following credible intelligence linking the suspects to fraudulent online activities.
In a statement released on Wednesday via X by the commission, it was revealed that the operation led to the recovery of various items believed to be proceeds of illegal activities.
These include eight exotic cars, multiple laptops, mobile phones, and a PlayStation game console, among others.
“Operatives of Ibadan Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested twenty-three (23) suspected internet fraudsters.
“The internet fraudsters were arrested at Akobo area of Ibadan in Oyo State following credible intelligence linking them with suspected involvement in fraudulent internet activities.
“Items recovered from them include eight exotic cars, laptops, phones and a play station game, among others.
“The suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations,” the statement said.
