YULETIDE: GOV. ALIA DECLARES TWO-WEEK HOLIDAY FOR BENUE CIVIL SERVANTS
Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has declared a two-week holiday for civil servants in the state to celebrate Christmas and the New Year.
During a press briefing at the Government House in Makurdi on Tuesday, Governor Alia announced that the holiday will begin on December 24 and end on January 6, 2025.
The governor explained that the extended holiday is aimed at allowing workers to spend quality time with their families during the festive season.
He also encouraged civil servants to use the break to engage in farming activities, contributing to the state’s food security.
He said, “I urge you to seize the opportunity of this long holiday to attend to your agricultural pursuit by engaging in farming activities so that there will be abundance of food in the state.”
Alia said all essential services like banks, energy providers, and security agencies are not affected by the long holiday.
He advised the people of the state to continue to imbibe the spirit of love and peace while remaining committed to a better Benue State.
