
LAGOS CARPENTER FACES TRIAL FOR ALLEGED N120,000 FRAUD
A 48-year-old carpenter, Tunji Aminu, is on trial at the Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly defrauding a client of N120,000.
According to police prosecutor Adegesin Famuyiwa, the incident occurred on May 29, 2024, at No. 13 Popoola Street, Agric, Ikorodu.
Aminu reportedly accepted the payment from Adebayo Johnson to build a set of chairs but failed to fulfill the contract, instead using the money for personal purposes.
He faces charges of stealing by conversion and obtaining money under false pretenses, violations of Sections 314 and 287 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.
Aminu pleaded not guilty, and the court granted him bail at N50,000, requiring two sureties in the same amount.
The case is set for further hearing on May 24.
