One of the day’s major highlights was the commissioning of the newly constructed Isheri Area Office Complex, a modern facility equipped with state-of-the-art offices and the Hon. Kunle Soname Multipurpose Hall, named in honor of the former Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA. The Hon. Afolabi Kazeem Shopping Complex was also unveiled — an initiative designed to stimulate economic growth and empower local businesses.
In her address, Mayoress Bada expressed profound gratitude to Almighty Allah, residents, and stakeholders, emphasizing that these projects symbolize her administration’s vision for a thriving, inclusive community. “These projects are more than just buildings. They represent hope, opportunity, and a promise to never stop working for the people,” she stated.
Beyond the area office and commercial developments, the Mayoress also commissioned critical infrastructure upgrades, including the resurfacing of Kayode Falowo Street in Diamond Estate, Adenike Ogunye Street in Magodo Phase II, and the complete transformation of Mutairu Street in Shangisha. She reaffirmed that the projects would directly enhance the daily lives of over 500 residents and strengthen the unity and future prosperity of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA.
The event drew the admiration of state dignitaries, including Mr. Gbenga Omotosho, Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, who praised the Mayoress for her commitment to development and noted that these projects would not only enrich the community but also significantly boost the council’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
Representing APC State Chairman Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, Deputy Chairman Moshood Mayegun commended the Mayoress for her dedication to service. He shared the heartfelt reaction of a 97-year-old community elder who had witnessed the area’s evolution over four decades and was overjoyed at its transformation. Mayegun assured residents that the Mayoress would ensure the proper maintenance of the newly commissioned projects and urged those working in the new facilities to serve with integrity and support the council’s vision.
Also lending their voices of appreciation, High Chief Bankole Baale and Olujobi, a former Council Manager, applauded the Mayoress’s leadership, her open-door policy, and her commitment to the community. Both encouraged residents and staff to collaborate fully with her administration in pursuit of lasting progress.
In a display of heartfelt solidarity, Dr. Murtala Seriki revealed that the youths of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA had pledged to purchase nomination forms for the Mayoress’s second-term bid, a move underscoring the deep trust and admiration she enjoys among the younger generation. Donations toward this effort were made on the spot, further solidifying their commitment.
In response to the youths’ gesture, the Mayoress expressed her deep appreciation, calling their support “truly shocking” and humbling. She extended special thanks to the State Youth Leader and all those who had contributed to her political journey. “In fact, what the youths did today is really shocking — especially from the State Youth Leader and everyone who has contributed immensely to my coming election. I promise you all, I will not disappoint your trust in me,” she declared.
The day concluded with an atmosphere of pride and unity, as the Mayoress reaffirmed her dedication to building a future where every child, mother, business, and resident of Ikosi-Isheri can thrive.
