NIGERIAN PLAYERS: AWONIYI SCORES A WINNER; SAMUEL KALU WITH A VITAL ASSIST
Taiwo Awoniyi’s goal was the match winner for Royal Excel Mouscron who came from a goal down to beat Oostende 2-1 in the Belgian Jupiler League.
Awoniyi who completed a loan move away from Gent on January 2 secured victory for his side in the 68th minute of the game.
Francis Amuzu was sent off in the 74th minute while in action for Anderlecht who lost 1-0 away at Gent. Gent paraded Anderson Esiti who was cautioned in the 40th minute.
Nigerian striker Jerry Mbakogu scored twice in his first start for Padova who recorded a 3-0 home win over Verona in a Serie B clash played at the Euganeo stadium in Italy.

Kenneth Omeruo saw yellow in Leganes 3-1 loss away to Barcelona. It was the 13th game of the campaign for Omeruo who was outstanding despite the defeat.
In France,Samuel Kalu provided an assist in Bordeaux’s 1 – 0 Dijon. The Nigerian winger who joined the club in the summer, played in a delightful ball for Andreas Cornelius to seal victory for his side in the 77th minute.
Anthony Nwakaeme saw all 90 minutes for Trabzonspor who lost 4-2 at home to Istanbul Basaksehir in a Turkish League game on Sunday.
Nwakaeme has scored four goals in 11 appearances for Trabzonspor. His compatriot Ogenyi Onazi who is currently recuperating from an Achilles injury came out to the pitch to greet the home fans for the warm support at the start of the game.
