Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has forwarded the names of six commissioner nominees to the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
The submission was contained in a letter addressed to the Speaker of the Assembly, Alfred Aondoaver Emberga, according to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Speaker’s Chief Press Secretary, Zape Upaa.
The governor said the nomination was aimed at strengthening the State Executive Council and bringing additional expertise and capacity into his administration.
The nominees are Hon. Kuma Yenge, Hon. Roy Terna, Hon. Angwa Monday, Hon. Elizabeth Ogenyi, Hon. Solomon Iorpev and Hon. Nick Eworo.
Alia urged the Assembly to give the nominees prompt consideration and approval in line with its constitutional mandate.
According to the statement, the latest nominations are part of efforts by the Alia administration to consolidate its cabinet and improve the efficiency of government operations and service delivery across the state.
The nominees are expected to fill vacancies created by the resignation of some former executive council members who stepped down to pursue various elective positions during the recent primary elections.
