The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, has reaffirmed that the military will sustain its intensified operations to dismantle criminal networks in Kogi State and across the country.
He gave the assurance while receiving Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo during a courtesy visit to the Army Headquarters in Abuja.
The disclosure was made in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja by the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Lt.-Col. Appolonia Anele.
He reaffirmed the army’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property and emphasized that the force would continue to work closely with state governments to strengthen security structures and promote lasting peace.
Earlier, Governor Ododo congratulated the COAS on his appointment as the 25th Chief of Army Staff, describing it as a well-deserved recognition of his leadership and competence. He also expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for making the appointment at a pivotal time in the nation’s security landscape.
The governor praised the Nigerian Army for its continued sacrifices in protecting the country and assured that the Kogi State Government would fully support all ongoing and future military operations within the state. (NAN)
