Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly been handed a 30-day suspension and a €255 fine by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) after leaving Portugal’s national team camp in Denmark.

According to football transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, the sanction follows Ronaldo’s decision to leave the squad during the international break amid tensions with head coach Jorge Jesus.

The 41-year-old forward reportedly accepted that his actions warranted punishment, saying he had a responsibility as captain to set an example for his teammates.

Ronaldo’s departure came after he was left as an unused substitute in Portugal’s 2–1 Nations League victory over Norway and subsequently learned he would not start against Denmark.

The Al-Nassr captain later explained his decision in a lengthy statement, accusing Jesus of breaking his word and describing the situation as a breach of trust. He also acknowledged that his actions should have consequences.

The FPF had opened disciplinary proceedings against Ronaldo on October 9, initially imposing a provisional suspension while the case was investigated.

The latest reported sanction means Ronaldo will miss Portugal’s November international fixtures. His return to the national team will depend on the situation moving forward.

The development adds another chapter to the dispute surrounding Portugal’s captain, with questions remaining over his future under Jesus.
