Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Davido has been confirmed as one of the headline performers for the Los Angeles edition of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Countdown Concert series scheduled for June 10.
In a statement released on Tuesday, FIFA announced that Davido will share the stage with Major Lazer, the music project led by renowned producer Diplo, while additional performers are expected to be unveiled ahead of the event.
The concert is part of a synchronized live entertainment series spanning the three host nations of the 2026 FIFA World Cup — Canada, Mexico and the United States — aimed at building excitement ahead of the tournament.
According to FIFA, the Los Angeles event will take place at Crypto.com Arena and will combine music, football and culture in a major pre-tournament celebration.
“Los Angeles will play host to a high-energy celebration, featuring Diplo’s Major Lazer and Davido, the first artists announced for what promises to be an unforgettable night of music, football and culture,” FIFA said.
The concert venue will open to attendees at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time, with the live broadcast scheduled to begin an hour later.
FIFA noted that the Countdown Concert series will connect performances from Los Angeles with simultaneous events in Mexico City and Toronto, highlighting the cultural diversity and unity of the three host countries.
Speaking on the initiative, Manolo Zubiria said the concert series reflects the passion and global connections that define the World Cup.
He added that the event, taking place just days before the opening match in the United States, would bring together fans, artists and football enthusiasts in one of the world’s leading entertainment hubs.
Tickets for the concert went on sale on June 3, while FIFA confirmed that the event will be streamed globally across its digital platforms, including the official FIFA World Cup TikTok account. Full concert footage and behind-the-scenes content will also be available on FIFA’s video-on-demand platform, VuMe Live.
