EDO DEPUTY GOVERNOR REWARDS TOP WASSCE STUDENT WITH N1M

Edo State Deputy Governor, Dennis Idahosa, has rewarded academic excellence with a N1m cash gift to Delight Amayaenvbo, an Edo student who achieved straight As in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination.

Idahosa was impressed by the student’s outstanding result, describing the achievement as evidence of hard work, discipline and determination.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Friday Aghedo, the deputy governor congratulated Delight for making his family and Edo State proud.

He stressed the importance of recognising and encouraging academic excellence among young people, saying the gesture was meant not only to reward the student’s exceptional performance but also to motivate other youths across the state to take their education seriously.

Idahosa urged students in Edo State to remain committed to their studies, noting that academic excellence could create opportunities for them while contributing to the overall development of the state.

“I am delighted to give Delight Amayaenvbo N1m cash gift for scoring straight As in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination.

“The gesture was intended not only to reward Delight’s exceptional performance but also to inspire other Edo youths to take their education seriously and strive for excellence,” he said.

Delight’s father, Charity Amayaenvbo, expressed appreciation to the deputy governor for the gesture, describing it as a major source of encouragement to his son and the entire family.

He thanked Idahosa for recognising his son’s achievement and prayed that the gesture would motivate more young people to pursue academic excellence.
