FESTIVE PERIOD: TOURISM MINISTRY HOLDS STAKEHOLDERS ’ ENGAGEMENT SUMMIT FOR HITCH-FREE CELEBRATION

As Lagos prepares for the annual influx of visitors and heightened social activities associated with the Yuletide and end-of-year season, the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture will hold a stakeholders’ engagement Summit on Thursday, 27th November, 2025, aimed at ensuring a hitch-free and well-coordinated December across the State.
The engagement Summit scheduled to be held at Lagos Continental Hotel, Victoria Island, will be attended by players from the hospitality, entertainment, events, transportation, and security sectors to deliberate on strategies for managing the surge in tourism-related activities during the festive period.
Apart from this, relevant government agencies on event coordination, private sector operators, venue owners, event promoters, and allied service providers are also expected to be part of the engagement Summit.
Speaking ahead of the stakeholders’ engagement, the Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs Toke Benson-Awoyinka, said the engagement will provide a platform to harmonise efforts with critical stakeholders to guarantee the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of residents and visitors throughout December and beyond.
She emphasised that Lagos, Nigeria’s entertainment and cultural capital, must maintain high standards in crowd management, security coordination, traffic control, and service delivery during the festive season.
According to her, the State Government is committed to enhancing the tourism experience by fostering collaboration and promoting responsible celebration.
She noted that the initiative is part of the government’s strategy to position Lagos as the preferred destination for leisure, entertainment, and cultural expression during the Yuletide.
The Commissioner reaffirmed that the Ministry would continue to work closely with all partners to minimise risks and ensure that the numerous concerts, festivals, parties, and cultural events scheduled for December proceed smoothly.
