FORMER DEFENCE SPOKESMAN MAJOR GENERAL ABUBAKAR, WIFE ABDUCTED BY GUNMEN

Retired Major General Rabe Abubakar, a former Director of Defence Information, and his wife have reportedly been abducted by suspected armed bandits in Katsina State.
Reports say the incident happened along the Katsina–Matazu road when the former senior military officer was travelling with his wife on Saturday.
Their vehicle was reportedly stopped by armed men in Matazu Local Government Area, after which they were taken away to an unknown location.
Sources said the driver conveying them escaped the incident with a bullet injury.
During his tenure as military spokesperson, Major General Rabe Abubakar (rtd) played a significant role in defence communications within the Nigerian Armed Forces.
The incident has heightened concerns over worsening insecurity in the North-West, particularly in Katsina State, where cases of kidnappings and armed attacks have continued to rise, affecting both residents and travellers.
The latest attack highlights the ongoing security challenges in Nigeria, despite continuous military efforts against armed criminal groups.
