FOUR ARRESTED IN ABIA FOR ILLEGAL ADOP
It was gathered that one of the suspects, Anurika Collins, identified one Emmanuel Okwechukwu, who had been arrested by the police for alleged child trafficking, as being the receiver of the stolen baby.
Collins has however confessed to the crime which took place two years ago.
She said Okwechukwu came to her residence in company with two other ladies and one newborn baby and told her that they wanted to sell the baby. She added that the only role she played in the transaction was to connect them with the woman who bought the baby from them.
The suspect, who claimed to be a Computer Science student at the Abia State Polytechnics, Aba, said she met Okechukwu for the first time when he brought a pregnant girl to hide in her apartment, but she refused to cooperate with him.
Collins said, “Okechukwu was the person that brought the women who said that they could not take care of their baby and they needed somebody who could abduct the baby.
