GUARDIOLA BACKS MAN CITY AFTER CLUB FOUND GUILTY OF OVER 100 FINANCIAL BREACHES

Former Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has voiced his support for the club after it was found guilty of more than 100 breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules.
Guardiola, who won 20 trophies during his 10-year spell in charge of City before leaving in May, expressed his backing for the club in a post on X on Wednesday.
“I want every single more than ever,” the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach posted on X.
“I am, always have been, always will be behind my club, my owner, my chairman (CEO) Ferran (Soriano), the players, staff, Enzo (Maresca), and you, our unique supporters.
“Let me be clear: we will get through this together. I love you all.”
Guardiola’s comments came days after an independent commission found Manchester City guilty of more than 100 charges relating to breaches of Premier League financial rules between 2009 and 2018.
The club was found to have arranged sham contracts with several commercial partners to artificially inflate its revenues, allegedly concealing the true state of its finances and avoiding breaches of Premier League and UEFA spending limits.
The commission also found City guilty on the majority of charges relating to the club’s failure to cooperate with the league’s investigation.
No sanction has been imposed on the club yet, while City has continued to deny the charges and said they would appeal the decision.
City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said the club remained confident it could prove its innocence.
Manchester City have emerged as one of the dominant forces in English football since Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s 2008 takeover.
The club have won eight Premier League titles, four FA Cups, and seven League Cups over the past 15 years, as well as their first Champions League title in 2023.
