Investigations revealed that the incident occurred on Saturday evening, July 11, 2026, between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The abduction comes just days after more than 40 pupils and teachers kidnapped during coordinated attacks on Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Yawota; L.A. Primary School; and Community Grammar School, Ahoro-Esiele, in the same state, regained their freedom after spending 56 days in captivity.
Abiola appealed to the “Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the Western Nigeria Security Network, codenamed Amotekun, hunters, vigilantes, and other security agencies to intervene and rescue his father.”
Colleagues of the victim and members of the education community in Itesiwaju Local Government also expressed concern over the incident.
Confirming the abduction on Monday, the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, said efforts were underway to rescue the victim and apprehend those responsible.
