The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Osun State, has announced the commencement of the Second Phase of the Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) Exercise, scheduled to begin on Monday, 5th January, 2026 across the state.
In a statement on Sunday, signed by Musa Olurode, Public Affairs Officer, INEC Osun State, the Commission extended New Year greetings to the people of Osun State and reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s democratic process.
According to the statement, the CVR is intended to provide an opportunity for eligible Nigerians who did not register during the first phase to do so, as well as for citizens who have attained the age of 18.
It further stated that the exercise is also open to registered voters who wish to “apply for transfer of their PVCs, correction of personal details, or replacement of lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).”
INEC urged all eligible voters in Osun State to take advantage of the exercise, noting that registration is a constitutional requirement for participation in elections.
The statement added that under the leadership of the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Mutiu Agboke, the Commission pledged to ensure a transparent, credible, inclusive, and acceptable electoral process, in line with the Electoral Act and INEC guidelines.
The move forms part of INEC’s preparations for the 2026 Osun State Governorship Election.
Members of the public are encouraged to obtain further information from INEC offices across the state and the Commission’s official platforms.
