The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ogun State has announced the commencement of the devolution and rotation of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise to Registration Areas (RAs) and wards across the state.
According to a press release issued on Monday, February 2, 2026, by the Ogun State INEC office in Magbon, Abeokuta, the ward-level CVR exercise takes effect immediately across all 20 Local Government Areas of the state.
The commission explained that the move followed the commencement of the second phase of the CVR on January 5, 2026, and is aimed at addressing challenges faced by voters by bringing registration services closer to the grassroots.
INEC said devolving the exercise to wards would significantly improve voter accessibility and convenience, ensuring that more eligible citizens are able to register and participate in the democratic process.
“All eligible citizens who have not yet registered or updated their voter information are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity,” the statement said.
The commission reaffirmed its commitment to conducting a transparent, inclusive and credible electoral process in Ogun State.
The statement was signed by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mrs Feyijimi Saseyi.
