The Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Ekiti State, Dr Bunmi Omoseyindemi, has urged registered voters who are yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards to take advantage of the one-week window provided for the exercise.
INEC is scheduled to commence the nationwide display of the Preliminary Register of Voters and the collection of PVCs on Friday.
Omoseyindemi made the call in Ado Ekiti on Thursday during the official flag-off and stakeholders’ engagement on the display of the voters’ register and PVC collection in the state.

The REC, who was represented by the Head of the Department of General Administration and Procurement, Alhaji Tiamiyu Arowolo, said the display of the Preliminary Register of Voters, hearing of claims and objections, as well as PVC collection, would take place across Ekiti from Friday, October 9, to Thursday, October 15, 2026.
He urged eligible voters to use the opportunity to verify their details on the register and collect their PVCs where applicable.
According to him, the display of the register would allow voters to confirm their names, photographs, biometric details and other personal information, while giving them an opportunity to request corrections where necessary.
He said members of the public could also raise objections to entries involving alleged underage persons, deceased individuals, non-citizens or cases of multiple registration, provided they presented relevant evidence.
Omoseyindemi said the Preliminary Register of Voters would be displayed for seven days, from 9am to 3pm daily, at designated Registration Areas and local government headquarters.
He added that the register would be clearly identified as the Preliminary Register of Voters to enable members of the public, political parties, civil society organisations and other stakeholders to scrutinise it and submit legitimate claims or objections.
The REC disclosed that INEC had trained personnel who would oversee the exercise to ensure the smooth display of the register and collection of PVCs across the state.
He charged the officials to maintain impartiality, transparency and integrity throughout the exercise, warning against negligence, absenteeism, political bias, favouritism, extortion and unauthorised alterations to electoral records.
Omoseyindemi also assured residents that the exercise would be accessible to vulnerable groups, including elderly persons, pregnant women, nursing mothers and persons with disabilities.
