JUST IN: BUHARI IN MEETING WITH NORTHERN APC GOVERNORS

President Muhammadu Buhari is currently in a meeting with governors of Northern states elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The meeting holding at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja is believed to be working towards harmonising the position of the governors with that of the President.
The governors had on Saturday issued a communique that the Presdiential candidate of the Party for the 2023 elections should be from Southern Nigeria.
Also on Saturday, Buhari urged members of the Party to work towards ensuring a consensus candidate to reduce tension ahead of the presidential primaries scheduled to hold Tuesday, June 7, in Abuja.
In attendance at the meeting are Governors Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna), Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano), Aminu Masari (Katsina), Babagana Zulum (Bornu), Bello Matawalle (Zamfara), Mala Buni (Yobe), Simon Lalong (Plateau), Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi), Abdullahi Sule (Nassarawa) and Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe)
