JUST IN: POLICE RESCUE ABDUCTED VICTIMS, ARREST SUSPECTS IN MULTI-STATE OPERATIONS

The Nigeria Police Force has released its State-by-State Executive Summary of operational successes recorded on September 29, 2026, highlighting arrests, rescue operations, recovery of weapons and other exhibits, as well as ongoing anti-crime operations across several states.

1. DELTA STATE (SEPTEMBER 27–28, 2026): ARREST OF SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBER, RECOVERY OF EXHIBITS, ANTI-CRIME OPERATIONS

Police operatives responded to an armed robbery and cable vandalism incident at a hotel in Asaba.

One suspected armed robber was arrested after sustaining a gunshot wound to the leg, while one machete, one plier, one iron rod and armoured cable were recovered.

Coordinated anti-crime patrols also led to the impoundment of 19 vehicles, two tricycles and one motorcycle over various offences.

Six suspects were arrested and handed over for further investigation.

2. LAGOS STATE (SEPTEMBER 25–27, 2026): ARREST OF SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERS, MURDER SUSPECTS, RECOVERY OF EXHIBITS

Police operatives arrested five suspected armed robbers following a distress call along the Ejigbo-Idimu Road.

Two cutlasses and one television set suspected to have been stolen were recovered.

Another suspected armed robbery suspect was arrested at a hideout in Mushin, with ₦2.5 million in cash and three mobile phones recovered from him.

Two suspects were also arrested in connection with a reported murder case in Ajah.

3. KOGI STATE (SEPTEMBER 26–27, 2026): RESCUE OF ABDUCTED VICTIM, ONGOING CLEARANCE OPERATION

Joint security forces rescued an abducted male victim unharmed following sustained bush-combing and rescue operations.

The abductors were forced to flee into the forest after security operatives deployed teargas.

Clearance operations are ongoing to track down and apprehend the fleeing perpetrators.

4. ANAMBRA STATE (SEPTEMBER 28, 2026): ARREST OF 13 SUSPECTS, RECOVERY OF ILLICIT SUBSTANCES AND MOTORCYCLES

Acting on credible intelligence, police operatives raided criminal hideouts within Okpoko.

Thirteen suspects were arrested, while others fled into the surrounding bushes.

Quantities of weeds suspected to be cannabis sativa and other illicit substances were recovered.

Six motorcycles were also recovered.

5. BAUCHI STATE (SEPTEMBER 28, 2026): RESCUE OF ABDUCTED VICTIM, ARREST OF SUSPECT

Police detectives rescued a 16-year-old male who had been abducted.

A suspect was arrested in connection with the abduction.

The rescued victim was safely taken to a hospital for medical examination.

Status: SCID Bauchi investigating.

6. FCT (SEPTEMBER 27, 2026): ARREST OF SUSPECT IN CULPABLE HOMICIDE CASE

Police detectives responded to a reported violent assault in Durumi.

The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.

Status: SCID Abuja investigating.

7. OGUN STATE (SEPTEMBER 29, 2026): RECOVERY OF FIREARM

Police operatives recovered a locally fabricated pistol discovered in a bush at Ogere-Remo.

The firearm was photographed and secured as an exhibit.

Efforts are ongoing to apprehend suspects linked to the incident who are currently at large.

8. TARABA STATE (SEPTEMBER 27, 2026): ARREST OF SUSPECT, RECOVERY OF FIREARM

Acting on credible intelligence, police operatives arrested a suspect found in possession of a locally made single-barrel gun.

The prohibited firearm was recovered and secured as an exhibit.
