The Kano State Police Command has arrested 10 suspects and recovered seven stolen motorcycles in a major breakthrough against motorcycle theft in the state.

The arrests followed the capture of a notorious motorcycle thief, Dahiru Jibrin, on August 11, 2025. Subsequent investigations by the Anti-Cyber Crime Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department led to the recovery of the stolen bikes, which have since been returned to their rightful owners.

Confirming the development in a statement on Thursday, the Command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, commended the officers for their professionalism, diligence, and commitment to duty.

“The Command urges members of the public to continue supporting the Police by providing timely information and cooperating in efforts to maintain peace and security across the state,” the statement read.

The Police further reiterated their determination to intensify operations, bring perpetrators of crime to justice, and prevent future cases of motorcycle theft in Kano.
