Yahaya Bello, Governor of Kogi State, has advised commercial institutions to install high-tech Close Circuit Television cameras around their branches, covering the banking premises and the surrounding area.
On Monday, the governor made this call while receiving a committee of bankers from Kogi State at the Government House in Lokoja.
He spoke to the Bankers’ Forum about the country’s rising insecurity and the need for collaboration and synergy to combat the threat, adding that while Kogi State has experienced peace, the government will remain vigilant.
According to Bello, insecurity has recently taken on a new dimension in the country, so they must stay one step ahead of the criminals and eliminate the threat.
He also advocated for the CCTV to be manned during working hours.
Mr. Asanato Sunday, an Assistant Director at the Central Bank, spoke on behalf of the forum and congratulated the governor on his efforts to combat insecurity in the state, noting that commercial institutions in the state would work to contribute to the fight against insecurity in the state.
