MAN CRIES OUT AFTER VENDOR DISAPPEARS WITH PAYMENT FOR UNDELIVERED ORDER

Agency report
Lagos, Nigeria – June 6, 2025
A Nigerian buyer has reported being defrauded by an unidentified online vendor, who allegedly received a payment of ₦95,000 for an item that was never delivered.
According to the victim, the payment was made on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, to a Wema Bank account (0246999625—Oguntide Jumoke Shade), belonging to the said vendor.
The arrangement was for the victim’s brother to pick up the item from a bus driver in Ijora, Lagos.
However, after the payment was made, all forms of communication with the vendor reportedly ceased.
“She stopped responding to my messages and refused to pick up my brother’s calls,” the buyer said.
The transaction was coordinated over Telegram and WhatsApp, using the phone number +234 814 936 5420, which remains linked to the vendor’s online presence.
The buyer is appealing for assistance in retrieving the funds and is urging the public to be cautious when making payments to unfamiliar online sellers.
Efforts are underway to report the matter to relevant authorities.
