The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) has directed all its branches nationwide to conclude church activities by 8:00 pm and suspend vigils and overnight programmes until further notice, citing rising security concerns across the country.

The directive was contained in an internal memo dated June 5, 2026, signed by the Director of Administration at the church’s international headquarters in Lagos, Temitope A. Olawale.

According to the church, the decision was taken as a precautionary measure to safeguard the lives and well-being of members amid prevailing security challenges.

The memo stated that all services, meetings, and other church activities must henceforth end not later than 8:00 pm, while vigil and overnight prayer programmes are to be suspended indefinitely.

“Where necessary, vigils may be converted to evening prayer programmes and must be concluded on or before 8:00 p.m,” the directive read.

It stressed that compliance with the instruction is mandatory across all levels of the ministry, adding that the measures are intended to reduce exposure of worshippers to potential security risks.

“These measures are purely precautionary and are intended to safeguard the lives and well-being of our members in the face of the current security situation in the country,” the statement added.

The memo was circulated to Principal Regional Overseers, Senior Regional Overseers, Mega Regional Overseers, zonal pastors, and branch pastors for immediate implementation.

The directive reflects growing concerns over insecurity in parts of the country, including incidents of banditry, kidnapping, and attacks on communities, which have continued to heighten public anxiety.
