The Nigeria Democratic Congress has dismissed reports of primary election results allegedly circulating in its name, describing them as fake and misleading.

In a statement issued on Thursday and signed by its National Secretary, Ikenna Enekweizu, the party said its primaries are scheduled to hold on May 29, 2026, making it “impossible and illogical” for any results or winners to have emerged.

The statement follows rumours that activist, Aisha Yesufu, was defeated while vying for the NDC ticket to contest the Federal Capital Territory senatorial seat.

“The Nigeria Democratic Congress wishes to inform the general public that our party primaries are scheduled to hold tomorrow, 29th May 2026.

“It is therefore impossible and illogical for any primary results or winners to have emerged when the primaries are yet to take place.

“We strongly urge the public and all well-meaning Nigerians to completely disregard the fake NDC primary results and false rumours currently circulating. Any result that does not emanate from official party sources should be disregarded.

“NDC remains committed to a transparent and credible primary process. We appeal to all our supporters and registered members to stay vigilant and ignore any unverified information,” the statement read.
