NDDC BOSS SAMUEL OGBUKU EMERGES PARAMOUNT RULER OF AYAKORO COMMUNITY

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Samuel Ogbuku, has been installed as the new Paramount Ruler of Ayakoro Community in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, assuming the revered traditional title of Daufa VI.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday in Port Harcourt by the NDDC Director of Corporate Affairs, Seledi Thompson-Wakama.
Ogbuku’s ascension follows the death of the community’s previous monarch six months ago and signals a new phase in the leadership of the historic riverine kingdom.
In line with the Ayakoro Community Constitution, Ogbuku, who previously served as Deputy Paramount Ruler, automatically succeeded the late monarch, ensuring a seamless transition in the traditional institution.

The succession process, supervised by officials of the Bayelsa State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, also saw Chief Micha Itekesi assume the position of Deputy Paramount Ruler.
Residents and stakeholders have described Ogbuku’s emergence as a recognition of his years of service, leadership, and contributions to the development of Ayakoro Community and the wider region.
Speaking after his installation, the NDDC chief described his elevation as a significant honour and a reflection of the trust and appreciation shown by the people for his longstanding commitment to their welfare and progress.
He said the confidence placed in him reinforced the value of selfless service and dedication to community development.
Ogbuku pledged to lead with humility, integrity, and a strong commitment to the collective interests of the people, while seeking divine guidance throughout his reign.
He expressed optimism that Ayakoro Community would experience greater peace, unity, and sustainable development under his leadership.
The new monarch also thanked the people of Ayakoro for entrusting him with the traditional responsibility and promised to work closely with all stakeholders to advance the community’s growth and prosperity.
His installation has attracted goodwill messages from residents and admirers, many of whom believe his blend of traditional authority and administrative experience will contribute positively to the development of Ayakoro Kingdom.
With the emergence of Daufa VI, Ayakoro Community is expected to embark on a new chapter focused on unity, stability, and shared progress.
