The Federal Government has sent a message of encouragement to the Super Eagles ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) semi-final clash against host nation Morocco on Wednesday.
Nigeria will face Morocco with a place in the final of the tournament at stake.
The message, delivered on behalf of the Federal Government by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, urged the players to give their best performance from the opening whistle to the final moment of the match.
In the statement, the minister assured the team of the nation’s full support, commending their impressive run in the tournament so far.
“Your journey has been inspiring,” the message read. “Match after match, you have displayed discipline, courage, and belief, reminding us why the Super Eagles remain one of Africa’s most respected teams.”
The government noted that the team’s past AFCON successes and victories against formidable opponents were built on teamwork, confidence, and fighting spirit—qualities it said the players have once again demonstrated in the current competition.
The statement further reminded the players that they carry the hopes of millions of Nigerians, urging them to approach the match with unity, hunger, and confidence.
“Play with the confidence of champions, the unity of brothers, and the hunger to succeed. Stay focused, trust one another, and give your best from the first whistle to the last,” the minister said.
The message concluded by calling on the Super Eagles to write another proud chapter in Nigeria’s football history, urging them to play with heart, pride, and commitment for the nation.
