The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has assured Nigerians that passport services across the country remain fully operational despite the recent migration of additional passport offices to the Central Personalization Centre.
In a statement posted on its official X account on Wednesday, the Service clarified that the exercise is a strategic administrative upgrade aimed at improving passport production, enhancing security and streamlining service delivery, not a suspension of operations.
According to the NIS, passport applicants can continue to visit their designated passport offices nationwide to complete biometric enrolment without any disruption.
The Service explained that the centralised production framework is designed to align Nigeria’s passport issuance process with global security standards while improving processing efficiency and safeguarding the integrity of the country’s travel documents.
It also assured the public that passport enrolment centres remain fully functional and that the production and distribution of passport booklets are continuing within the established processing timelines.
The NIS urged Nigerians not to be concerned by reports suggesting a suspension of passport services, stressing that all passport-related operations, including biometric capture, production and booklet distribution, are proceeding as scheduled.
