Operatives of the Adamawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have rescued two young children allegedly abandoned by their parents in Yola South Local Government Area.

The children, aged one and two, were reportedly left in an uncompleted building in the Wuro Hausa area, where they were found crying late at night.

Speaking during a briefing with journalists in Yola, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSC Nyako Amidu Baba, said the children were discovered after a concerned resident noticed the situation and alerted authorities.

Following the report, NSCDC personnel responded promptly and rescued the children from the building.

Baba said the children are currently in protective custody while efforts are underway to identify and locate their parents.

He added that the State Commandant, Idris Bande, has directed officers to intensify investigations to trace the parents and facilitate the children’s safe reunification with their family.
