OBA OF BENIN: LET TINUBU FINISH HIS GOOD WORK

Recent reports confirm the remarks were made during the APC Presidential Campaign Council’s visit to the Benin Palace on September 15, 2026.
The Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty Oba Ewuare II, has called for the renewal of President Bola Tinubu’s mandate in the 2027 presidential election.
The monarch made the call on Tuesday when the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, led by its Director-General, Abdulazeez Yari, visited his palace in Benin City, Edo State, as part of consultations ahead of the 2027 election.
Speaking during the visit, Oba Ewuare II said leaders who were performing well should be allowed to continue, adding that it was his prayer that Tinubu would receive a renewed mandate.
“For somebody who is doing well, it is our prayer that he gets a renewed mandate,” the monarch said.
The Oba also cited a biblical injunction while urging Nigerians to support the President in areas where they considered his administration’s efforts positive.
“Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. If one is doing well, why not join hands with the President to do what he is doing well. Let President Tinubu finish the good work,” he said.
The monarch further asked the APC delegation to convey his best wishes to President Tinubu and expressed appreciation for the warm reception he received from the President during his visit to Abuja.
The visit formed part of the Presidential Campaign Council’s consultations with traditional rulers and other stakeholders ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
